My name is Anita. I am the author of the book, "Anastasia and The Ghostly Owl (The Choice Was Hers!)." This paperback is not written as the typical stories you read about on a topic such as abuse. In fact, my story is written through the use of metaphors. The raw details of abuse, violence, sexual assault, and rape are never revealed. If a reader does not want to read the horrific details of child abuse, this is the book for them. I wrote my personal story in an uncharacteristic and unique way because I wanted to inspire my readers by presenting the themes "hope" and "adversity" concurrently.
One purpose of my story is to help parents understand what children, teenagers, and young adults go through when dealing with life's sufferings. My personal and horrible life experiences are present in this story, although written symbolically, to show you that despite our misfortunes, we can find feelings of self-esteem and self-worth. I use similes to present topics such as: Silence, Secrets, Guilt, Shame, Survival, Hope, Faith, Believing in Yourself, Persistence, Perseverance, Determination, Self-awareness, Self-help.
"Anastasia and The Ghostly Owl (The Choice Was Hers!)" is now available at Kindle, the Apple Bookstore or my website for only $5.99 CAD.
